It has been a long time sense I've enjoyed watching a game that didn't directly involve Newell's Old Boys so much, but this was quite a party! Plenty of action, lots of drama, and I was nearly biting my nails at the end as Racing Club seemed to run out of gas during the last 10 minutes of the game while trying to hold on to a 2-1 lead over Banfield.
In the end, they managed it, but I'm still a little mad at the offsides call in the first half that erased what should have been Racing's second goal of the game. Yes, there was a player who had been in an advanced position, but he got back BEFORE the ball was passed to him. Therefore the ensuing goal should have counted.
Still, Racing wins, and that opens the door for Newell's to take over sole possession of first place if/when they win tomorrow!
