Late August Transfer Rumors

With the European transfer window closing coming up on August 31st the rumor mill chugs on. Word is that England's West Ham United want Mauro Fórmica, and that an earlier bid to take him on loan wasn't accepted by Newell's Old Boys management. La Lepra are said to be asking for 5 million Euros for El Gato, and not a penny less... with only a few days to go, we should know soon enough.

The other name being talked about is Leonel Vangioni, who is said to have German side Werder Bremen's interest. Considering Leo is still recovering from an injury, I don't see this one happening before the window closes, but a January deal could still be negotiated. No word on the money side of this one, but I'd expect about half what Newell's are expecting for Gato would be a fair price.

From a fan perspective I'm hoping neither sale goes through, but Newell's do need the money.
