Godoy Cruz vs Newell's Preview

Tomorrow Newell's visit Godoy Cruz, and I for one would not take a bet on this game to save my life. Godoy are playing in the National A after having placed 2nd in the Primera B Nacional last season, and have three wins so far in the Apertura, one against Boca Jrs.

All things considered, I'm hopeful of a road win, but expecting such is a dangerous thing. If Gamboa has his players up for the game against El Expreso a win should be obtainable. However, if they go in expecting to win over an easy opponent, overconfidence could prove disastrous.

Probable Newell's lineup:

Sebastián Peratta; Pablo Aguilar, Rolando Schiavi, Juan Insaurralde y Germán Ré; Gastón Machín, Hernán Bernardello y Leonel Vangioni; Leandro Torres; Diego Torres y Cristian Fabbiani.

Of those players I'd rather we had an alternative to Machín, but then who goes into the lineup in his place? Pablo Pérez has shown some promise in the past, but has been inconsistent in the 6 games he's played in this season. After that, the squad does not appear to have much to choose from.

That's the problem with Machín, after him it get's pretty thin. Pérez just is too up and down, and I don't think the Paraguayans cover his spot, so who knows. Monsalvo and Grazzini scare me way more than he does.

And Machín was a pretty darn good player the last few years. He'll come around, I hope.
