Newell's Down Racing Club To Close Apertura

Gamboa experimented with the lineup again, this time going with a 3-5-2 formation, but I can make no complaints this time around. Racing were dismantled if the score line is to be believed. It was 3-0, and while Zapata missing a penalty in his retirement game, Bernadello pounced on the rebound to score.

With Deigo Torrez out of the game suspended, Ernesto Cristaldo was put into the lineup as a forward next to El Ogro Fabbiani. I can't say much about Cristaldo, haven't seen him play. Then there's the fact that one website lists him as a defender, another has him as a forward. Well, he played next to Fabbiani, guess that makes him a forward, eh?

Nuls Line-up:
Sebastián Peratta;
Ignacio Pillud, Nicolás Spolli, Juan Insaurralde;
Gastón Machín, Hernán Bernardello, Ariel Zapata, Leonel Vangioni, Leandro Torres;
Ernesto Cristaldo, Cristian Fabbiani

Subs
Germán Caffa for Sebastián Dario Peratta (45)
Mauro Fórmica for Leandro Torres (54)
Mauricio Sperdutti for Gastón Machín (84)

Scoring
57' Formica
86' penalty by Zapata saved
86' Bernardello (rebound from saved penalty)
90' Insaurralde

True to form for the season, we end the opening championship with a blow out, yet 2 of the 3 goals were scored by defensive players.
