Resting In The Eye Of The Hurricane

After two back to back 0-0 draws, vs Emelec last Wednesday, and Sunday against Independiente, the Clausura schedule isn't giving any breaks to Newell's as they will have to face Huracán on Wednesday, February 3rd. With this being the third match the team will play in a mere eight days Sensini has called in the reserves.

Of the players who stared Sunday's Clausura opener, only Peratta and Schiavi are scheduled to start. Insaurralde and Achucarro will be the only other starts who will be dressing. Below is the likely starting lineup.

Sebastián Peratta
Nahuel Roselli, Rolando Schiavi, Alexis Machuca, Juan Quiroga
Mauritius Sperdutti, Hugo Barrientos, Leonel Vangioni
Cristian Sanchez Prette
Diego Torres, Cristian Núñez.

Scheduled to be on the bench will be Nahuel Guzmán, Juan Insaurralde, Jonathan Hereñú, Marcelo Estigarribia, Miguel Cascio, Raul Villalba, Emanuel Denning and Jorge Achucarro.

Still a pretty strong group, so they should be able to hold their own. Game time is 5:10 PM local time, or 3:10 my time, so once again I'll be stuck at work. Eventually I'm going to be able to see another match, this is nearly as frustrating as all the 0-0 draws.

On a side note, I finally took a look at more than just the highlights of the match against Independiente. According to the report I saw, Newell's started with a 3-3-4 formation. That's four forwards. Looking at that, I'm really hoping that Sensini hasn't caught mad-Pumpido disease. I really don't want to start seeing a new formation every match. Switching between 4-4-2, and 3-5-2 should be more than enough.
